Irons v. Carey InformationOn May 18, 2005, the Ninth Circuit ordered the parties in Irons v. Carey, no. 05-15275, to brief the constitutionality of 28 U.S.C § 2254(d)(1). The Court invited interested parties to seek leave to file amicus curiae briefs. The Habeas Corpus Resource Center, Office of the State Public Defender, California Appellate Project, and the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice sought and were granted leave to file an amici brief on June 8, 2005.
